Birth Awareness Three-step Rewind Process
As a postnatal doula and the years of experience working on the postnatal ward, I often experience the unfortunate lows that the pregnancy and birthing experience can cause. I wanted to find a way to help parents alleviate those negative, often unwanted feelings. Through researching different techniques I found the Three- Step Process to be a gentle yet effective method to help families move forward with a more positive emotional response to situations that were holding them back. The process works over three sessions, this can be done face to face or virtually.
The Rewind process includes
Step 1 - A guided visualisation/relaxation that creates a platform to explore the relevant conscious/subconscious memories, quite often without the need to describe the event itself.
Step 2 - Through another guided relaxation we ‘Rewind’ the memory which essentially gives you an opportunity to reprogram the emotional response to the event, this in turn lifts the negative associations moving forward.
Step 3 - Review of the process so far and how you now feel about the memory followed by a visualisation which focusses of positive responses to future events.
Please do get in touch if you feel the Rewind Process might help you in any way.
